Creative Direction, Branding, Logo Design
In tandem with Beachcities Church's 30th Anniversary, the staff at Beachcities asked me to approach a brand refresh to give a fresh look for the coming years. Beachcities has been a longstanding home within the coastal communities in Orange County. With that I wanted to keep their heritage of being an approchable, yet thoughtful space for people to explore their faith. We redesigned their logo, all their print collateral, and even interior spaces.
This logo mark pulls from the markers of the coastal regions. Since it's origin, Beachcities has used a palm tree in some capcity to mark their presence in the community. While holding on to the heritage of the church as well as a pivitol marker of the community it serves, the palm branch was born.
After many iterations of full trees, clusters of branches, etc. we landed on this singular branch silhouette. I wanted to convey some of the biblical references to the vine and the branch. While positioning Beachcities as a branch that lives off of the vine, there is embedded meaning in the life of the church; always living connected to the vine.
